Welcome, friends…

So what’s this blog all about then? Well, I guess that it’s intended to connect with people: people I can talk to, people able to offer advice, people I can reach out to, all within a circle that was unattainable prior to the digital age.

Now that I’ve finally embarked on the sci-fi novel that was bouncing around the inside of my head for so many years, I thought I’d share some of the conundrums and insights I had on the process of creating this story, whilst also trying to enlist the help and support of others in getting it polished and maybe even getting it published.

20131010_Eynon_Gareth_025Writing can sometimes be a lonely pursuit as you sit there immersed in your own little world. Dreaming up plots, imagining characters, giving them names, developing scenes, conjuring up interesting places and working out the logic and motives for the craziness you’ve just invented can be a joyous and frustrating experience. And, for the most part, the project is undertaken whilst exercising  restraint from talking about it with those close to you because you don’t want to ruin a story that, ultimately, you want them to enjoy.

Hence, I thought I’d discuss matters out here in the blogosphere instead .

I’m sure there are many other writers out there who have the same thoughts and encounter the same issues as me. And, while I appreciate this may be just another blog about writing, that doesn’t quell my urge to connect with others.

Of course, I can’t talk forever about writing, so occasionally, I might also indulge in a little discussion of life and the rich kaleidoscope of highs, lows and oddities that makes it what it is.

So that’s it.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, my surname is pronounced: /Ayenun/

Much appreciated Jennifer, thanks. Being new to the blogosphere, I’m not sure I can name 10 other bogs quite yet; yours would be one of them, but you’re already nominated, so that’s that idea out of the window.

      • It can be hard. That’s why I “changed” the rules to be up to 10 other blogs. I think one of the other blogs I nominated just chose 2 other blogs to nominate. So, I wouldn’t sweat it. But you might have some luck just searching out other blogs that interest you in your reader 🙂

  2. Hi! I nominated your blog for the Liebster Award. Please check http://seekingsomepeace.wordpress.com/2014/01/25/nomination-number-two/ for details 🙂

  3. Thank you for stopping by my blog! Wonderfully written bio. I look forward to reading more on your blog.

  5. I just nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger award, on account of me enjoying all of your writing-related posts. No pressure to accept it or pass it along (especially if you’ve just done one of these), but I thought of your blog so I wanted to give you the award. If you accept it you can nominate as many or as few people as you want. Link: http://drsylvesterfiction.com/2014/07/22/blog-award-nomination-99356-words/
